Skoutd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Skoutd platform at skoutd.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use our services. By using Skoutd you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: email address and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Athlete profile information: name, graduation year, sport, academic information, GPA, and any other recruiting profile details you enter.
- Media links: public URLs to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Hudl, MaxPreps, or similar platforms that you share with us.
- Outreach content: email drafts, subject lines, and notes you create for coach outreach.
- Payment information: billing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your card number.
- Feedback and support requests you submit through the platform.
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps when you use the service.
- Usage data: which features you use, outreach emails sent, and platform interactions.
- Cookies: we use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a security (CSRF) cookie to protect your account. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
Information from third parties
When you submit a public media URL for film analysis, that URL is sent to Google Gemini (Google LLC) for AI processing. No account credentials or private content is sent — only the public URL you provide.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and deliver the service.
- To generate AI-powered recruiting profiles and outreach emails on your behalf.
- To send outreach emails to college coaches at your direction.
- To process payments via Stripe.
- To communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Stripe: payment processing. Stripe has its own Privacy Policy.
- Google Gemini: AI analysis of public media URLs you submit. Google's Privacy Policy applies to that processing.
- Resend: transactional email delivery (verification emails, outreach). Resend processes your email address and outreach content.
- College coaches: outreach emails you approve are sent to coaches with your name, sport, and the recruiting profile content you supply.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
We do not share your information with data brokers, advertising networks, or any other third parties beyond those listed above.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Skoutd is designed for athletes aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, you may not use this service. If you are between 13 and 17, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed these terms and agrees on your behalf.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child under 13 has registered should contact us at info@skoutd.ai.
6. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to Know: you may request a list of the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
- Right to Delete: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: we do not sell your personal information. No opt-out is required.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right.

7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and recruiting data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you cancel your subscription and close your account, we will delete your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes, which Stripe retains per its own policies).
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and secure HTTP-only session cookies. We operate on infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 compliance (Fly.io, Neon Postgres). No transmission over the internet is 100% secure; use a strong, unique password.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: you can view and update your profile information at any time through the platform.
- Account deletion: email us at info@skoutd.ai to request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Unsubscribe from outreach: coaches who receive outreach from Skoutd can opt out via the unsubscribe link in each email. This removes them from future outreach platform-wide.
- Email communications: transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts) are required to operate the service and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
10. International Users
Skoutd is operated in the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Skoutd, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to your registered email address at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
